A PREGNANT woman and her boyfriend have been attacked by axe-wielding robbers in a frightening Sutton Coldfield house raid.

Three masked-wielding thugs sprayed the five-month pregnant woman, who is in her 20s with a gas and beat her up at her home in Falcon Lodge Crescent, before setting upon her boyfriend with an axe and then stealing mobile phones and cash at around 12.30am on Wednesday (May 17).

The victim's aunt Sarah McClure said: “My poor little niece who is five-months pregnant was broken in to by three so-called men, tooled up, who sprayed her with gas and beat her up and stole car keys to an 07 Audi and her little car. They also stole an iPad and phone.


“My niece managed to rip one of their balaclavas off and saw his face they beat her boyfriend up as well with an axe.

“They then locked them in their own house. She had to climb out of a window to get to hospital to check her baby was ok."

West Midlands Police confirmed they were called to Falcon Lodge Crescent to reports of a robbery.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Up to three masked offenders are believed to have forced their way into the property in Falcon Lodge and demanded money from a woman aged in her 20s, before spraying her in the face with an unknown but not harmful substance.

“Another man, also in his 20s, was assaulted before the men made off with mobile phones and cash.

“No-one was seriously hurt but weapons were recovered from the address."
